Founded in 1995, JMK Contact, Inc. provides a full range of interface services to U.S. organizations involved in the Russian Federation and other republics of the former Soviet Union.  Services range from deal negotiation to relationship management to translation and interpretation. We specialize in high-level, protocol intensive events, and complex and technical subject matter. Our interpreters have worked at the highest levels of business and government, including US and Russian Presidents, Chairman of Exxon Mobil, President of the World Bank.

Ms. Karpeisky is a founder and owner of JMK Contact, Inc., (www.jmkcontact.com) an international communications company helping American clients succeed in the former Soviet Union. Over the course of the last 10+ years Ms. Karpeisky participated in creation of winning strategies, building relationships, resolving conflicts, and bringing deals to closure.

In the same way one needs a power adapter to make their laptop work overseas, Americans need a human interface to make their expertise function there. Ms. Karpeisky serves as such an interface assuring full understanding and seamless communication between Americans and their Russian-speaking counterparts.

 

 

Sample Consulting Projects

  • Assisted a US client in a Russian airframe purchase negotiations.
  • Assisted a US biotech start-up company in closing a $1.8M round of financing with a Russian investor; mediated CEO exit negotiations.
  • Designed and produced the 2005 Kazakhstan Trade and Investment Conference, which featured Vice Chairman of Chevron Texaco and Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan as keynote speakers. Ms. Karpeisky successfully managed conflicting needs of U.S. sponsors and Kazakh government. She raised the necessary funds, managed the project against schedule and budget, as well as lead and managed the team. Ms. Karpeisky designed and implemented the process enabling U.S. and Kazakh businesses to connect prior to the event. This resulted in many concrete projects starting during the conference.
  • Assisted in creation of a Russian-American aerospace joint venture.
  • Assisted in negotiating restructuring of the US-Russian-French joint venture. Facilitated a Russian-American-Norwegian long-term military strategy planning exercise.
  • Led parties out of an impasse, thus allowing her client to avoid writing off a multimillion-dollar investment.

 

 

Training

Ms. Karpeisky designs delivers executive training programs on international communications and leadership development. “Take It Personally! Close Profitable Deals Overseas” offers a proven methodology for reducing time, costs and frustration involved in closing a deal in international markets. “Living the Inspired Life: Tools for Being Fully Engaged” is a renewal program that helps teams reconnect, and allows individuals to align their personal goals with those of the corporation. “There IS Enough Time” is an advanced productivity seminar designed for teams of senior executives. As a follow-up to her training programs, Ms. Karpeisky delivers individual coaching sessions. She helps participants deepen the learning, and apply newly acquired skills to their specific projects.

 

 

Interpreting

As an interpreter, Ms. Karpeisky facilitates communications at the highest levels of business and government, including for US President, Vice President, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, Members of Congress and Supreme Court Justices; Chairmen of Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Conoco Phillips, Halliburton, and Lukoil, President of the World Bank, President of Kazakhstan, Russian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Foreign Minister of Israel.

A mediator and executive coach (certified by Franklin Covey), Julia holds and M.S. in Chemistry from Moscow State University, and an M.A. in International Diplomacy from the University of Kentucky. Ms. Karpeisky holds an active top secret clearance through the U.S. Department of Justice.
