GUANTANAMO HABEAS CASES

I continue to travel to Guantanamo to interpret for US lawyers representing Guantanamo detainees in their Habeas Corpus cases.

On April 13, I interpreted at a Habeas Corpus hearing for Ravil Myngazov. Judge Kennedy ruled that our client was unlawfully detained (8 years ago), and granted him the writ of Habeas Corpus. For more information see Miami Herald Article.

2008 Interpreting Update

On Jan 18, 2008 I had an honor to interpret at meetings which included President Bush, Vice President Cheney, Secretary of State Rice, Secretary of Defense Gates, Dr. Henry Kissinger and the Russian delegation.

President George W. Bush meets with Dr. Henry Kissinger, former Russian Prime Minister Yevgeniy Primakov, and other senior American and Russian statesmen and policy experts Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, in the Cabinet Room of the White House. The meeting presented an opportunity for the President to hear views from the delegation on a variety of issues important to the United States and to Russia and reflects the high value the President attaches to the U.S.-Russia bilateral relationship. This informal dialogue, co-chaired by Dr. Kissinger and Mr. Primakov, was initiated in 2007 with the support of Presidents Bush and Putin, to foster discussion of important issues on the U.S.-Russia agenda.
